In this tutorial I will show you how to disable any of the default icinga2 plugin check commands (pre-installed with icinga2 node wizard) in a Linux node.

For example , If you want to disable the APT check command from a Linux node, Then ssh into that Linux node and execute below commands.

Step one(Disabling APT check)

sudo cd /etc/icinga2/conf.d
sudo rm apt.conf
icinga2 node update-config
service icinga2 restart

Other checks

Or if you want to disable some other service like “procs check” , open the file services.conf
sudo nano /etc/icinga2/conf.d/services.conf
and comment out below lines.
#apply Service "procs" {
#import "generic-service"
#check_command = "procs"
#assign where == NodeName

service icinga2 reload

Step two

And finally login to your icinga2 master server and execute below commands

icinga2 node update-config
service icinga2 reload

voila!! Now you have successfully removed a icinga check from Linux node.
